Stipe Miocic defeats Daniel Cormier via unanimous decision in UFC heavyweight trilogy title fight

Defending champion Stipe Miocic defeated Daniel Cormier via unanimous decision in their highly anticipated trilogy rematch for the UFC heavyweight crown Saturday night at UFC 252 in Las Vegas.

Judges scored the fight 49-46, 49-46, 48-47 for Miocic.

It was the first of their three fights to go the distance.

The pair first met at UFC 226 in July 2018, when Cormier, at the time the light heavyweight champion, moved up to heavyweight and defeated the three-time defending champion Miocic via first-round stoppage. Miocic avenged the loss a year later at UFC 241, with a fourth-round TKO.
